Meeks & Associates is a non profit group which works towards building welcoming and inclusive environments and diversity appreciation in communities for Iowans.

How we do this:

Meeks & Associates provides training, work shops, and facilitation to organizations and groups throughout Iowa. The focus is to assist youth and adults with tools and networks to help create ongoing local partnerships and dialogues; fostering welcoming and inclusive environments. This covers employment, education and community settings.

Examples of community support & success

Recent: "Empowerment Board Project" (2018-2022) reaching out to the (7) largest communities within Iowa. The project works to reduce African-American unemployment/under-employment within Iowa communities. 

Welcoming schools and community initiatives: Meeks and Associates has engaged in educational community partnerships since 2012 to 2020 that have included the following resources:

Des Moines Public Schools, Des Moines Human Rights Commission, West Des Moines Schools, West Des Moines Human Rights Commission, YESS Program of Central Iowa, Waterloo Community Schools and more.

Past:

2015-2016 "Connecting low income households to safe & healthy school access/participation".

2015 Meeks & Associates celebrates 10 years of community service for Iowans. This milestone and recognition of commitment was held in Des Moines, Iowa.

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009; Meeks & Associates a financial co-sponsor and contributor to local Slam Poetry competitions in Waterloo, Iowa.

2005 Meeks & Associates organize the creation of the Clinton, Iowa Diversity Appreciation Team (articles in Clinton press).

2003 - 2005 Meeks & Associates a financial co-sponsor contributor to the Iowa's Mosaic Diversity Conference, Ames, Iowa.
